As a young man, I seemed to be in a hurry to grow up. Upon graduating high school I got married, enlisted in the Air Force and had three children; Attorney: Megan ,(New York, NY), Dr. Amy, (Cincinnati, OH) and Dr. Sara (Boston, MA), by the time I was 22.
Like many young men, I did not grow up with a specific set of goals. I met someone, wanted to get married, and that was my total motivation for joining the Air Force. However, joining the service was a very fortunate choice. How else can a young man financially stand on his own two feet at 18 years of age, learn a trade and support a family?
After I received an honorable discharge from the service, I went to work for a family business as their truck driver, welder/fabricator, and mechanic; I still hold that CDL and it does get occasional use.
The GI BilI made college a possibility and a reality. I went to night school and graduated from Western Connecticut State University, (Night School) in 1984. After I graduated, I entered the insurance industry. I was divorced in 1986.
I remarried in 1991. In 1997, My wife JoAnn & I moved from Connecticut to Maryland, when my youngest (from the first marriage) was accepted into college.
Today JoAnn & I live In Ellicott City Maryland with our two children; Michael (16) and Ellen (17). We own and operate a Trailer Leasing Business out of Baltimore. We are a big soccer family. I really enjoy coaching soccer and I also play in a men’s league.
